Editorial and Review Policy
How our practice questions, study guides, and articles are written, checked, and kept current. Last updated: September 28, 2026.
Who makes this content
Everything on RBT Prep Academy is written in-house. Drafting is done by Lucas J. Martin, RBT, working from real supervised-session scenarios. Clinical review is done by Ethan T. Sanders, BCBA-D, BACB certification #1-19-23507. You can confirm that certification yourself in the public BACB registry.

What we write from
- The BACB's published RBT Task List (3rd edition) and the RBT Handbook, used as the structure for every question, flashcard, and study-guide section.
- The BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Technicians, for all conduct and ethics content.
- Standard applied behavior analysis textbooks and peer-reviewed literature for definitions, procedures, and measurement rules.
- Practitioner experience from supervised ABA sessions, used to build original, realistic scenarios.
We never reproduce, paraphrase, or reconstruct live BACB exam items. Every question here is original and written for study purposes only.
How a question or article is produced
- Mapping. Each item is tied to a specific Task List code before it is written, so coverage matches the real exam weighting.
- Drafting. Questions get one correct answer and three plausible distractors built from common real-world mistakes, plus a written rationale explaining why each choice is right or wrong.
- Clinical review. A credentialed behavior analyst checks accuracy, terminology, and ethical framing before publication.
- Editing. We check readability, remove filler, and make sure each article answers the question it promises in the title.
Keeping content current
The full question bank and study guide are reviewed against the current Task List at least twice a year, and immediately whenever the BACB changes certification requirements, the ethics code, or exam structure. Articles carry a visible publication date and are refreshed when the underlying requirements change.
Corrections
If you believe a question, rationale, or article is wrong, tell us and we will check it. We fix confirmed errors in the question bank directly, usually within a few days, and note material changes in the affected article. Write to hello@rbtprepacademy.com or use the contact form.
Independence and advertising
RBT Prep Academy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the BACB. The site is free to use and supported by advertising. Advertisers have no influence over what we write, which topics we cover, or the content of any question or rationale. Editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial relationship, and we do not accept paid placement inside articles or the question bank. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.
How we use AI
AI tools may assist with formatting, drafting scaffolds, and proofreading. No question, rationale, or article is published without a human writing pass and human review against the source material above. Responsibility for accuracy rests with our editorial team, not a tool.
